"Childish Gambino" born Donald McKinley Glover, is an 27-year-old American sextuple threat. Wait, you dont know what a sextuple is? Well triple means 3 and quadriple means 4 and quintuple means 5, so sextuple can only mean 6. Yes you read right his a 6-point threat. Actor, writer, comedian, musician, singer and rapper are all the amazing talents this Atlanta born genius embraces.
He was born into a foster home run by his mother which he claims to make him who he is today. At the age of 23 he graduated from New York University with a degree in Dramatic writing.
Donald began writing for the NBC series '30 Rock' in 2006 creating the character 'Kenneth Parcell' and also making a cameo appearance. However Donald is best known for his role for playing 'Troy Barnes' in the NBC series 'Community'.
Rumours broke out early 2008, that Donald would play a role on the popular comedy series 'Saturday Night Live', but he denied all claims. Later Glover's comedian stand-up special aired on Comedy Central on March 19, 2010.
Donald Glover drunk one night with a few of his friends in college, typed his name in a Wu-Tang Clan name generator. This gave him the nickname 'Childish Gambino', although people seeing the generator as a joke, Donald took this name seriously and adapated it as his musician name.
Since the name 'Childish Gambino' was adapted, he has released several mixtapes with his most notable and recent one titled 'Culdesac' receiving world-wide attention and credit from other musicians.
His topics range from personal subject matters, including family, schoolyard bullying, troubled romantic relationships, suicidal thoughts and even alcoholism. Topics like these keep 'Gambino' original and unique, not having to rap about money, girls and cars but rather his trimuphs and what troubles him as everyday problems.
On December 1 2010, Glover released the first track off of his EP titled "Be Alone". He released the next track, "Freaks and Geeks", as well as a five-song track list. On February 25 2011, Donald released the dates for his very firsdt tour titled 'IAMDONALD' tour and also his first music video for "Freaks and Geeks."
