The Club Scene

We all go through it, do it, get over it, get back on it and even work shit jobs to get money to go HARD at them....

I'm talking about CLUBBING.

Clubs/Discos/Lounges whatever you want to call them, they're our outlets to socialize and party. From the day you turn of legal age (or for some of you dodgy kids rockin' them fakies...nice =D) you dream of nothing more than going to a club and getting wasted! Well Melbourne city holds it down pretty well...you just gotta look out for a place that suits YOUR comfort zone...

For those young Guys and dolls hitting that bitter sweet legal age this year, here are some little pointers to help you enjoy the clubbing scene...

>MUSIC SELECTION...
Most places these days tend to only play one style of music...don't get me wrong this is all well and good, but try hit up spots with multiple rooms, therefore during the night you can tee up and have the choice of two different genres of music...

>RATIO...
GUYS: Don't think that "OH YEAH BOYS, LETS ALL GO TO SUCH AND SUCH TONIGHT..." and rock up with a sausage sizzle of blokes...Security frown HARD on big groups specially if there all guys...the mentality of that is that too many guys, too much trouble. So break it up, even it up and shake it up! split your crew up early, have a plan...and for geewillikers sake have some girls! Don't go pull them out of the line when security can see you!

GIRLS: You got it way easier then the fellas. Its almost unheard of that a group girls would ever be knocked back. Girls need to start doing what the boys normally do, and that's come in the 100's! I don't get it...Girls love to do everything in like massive groups...but why not a trip out on the town? Think about it ;)

>DRESS...
Party people, this is huge...DRESS TO IMPRESS...looking like you stepped out in your wife beater and button up shorts aint HAP-PA-NANG!
Dress accordingly to the night...When patrons all support a night by co-operating, the night automatically increases in SWAG..lets just put it like that...

Main things to remember guys is have fun, be safe and get LOOSE!

Heroic Dreams

I've always been a fanboy for super-hero films. It started at a young age, when I would bounce around my living room punching and kicking thin-air imitating the early live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Batman movies. I was obsessed with the idea of heroic people/animals gaining some sort of super power to fight evil and always managing to save the day. If super-hero was a real occupation, I would've grown up to be this a long time ago.

It wasn't until Marvel Studios hit the big screen before the new millennium with the first 3 blockbusters - Blade, X-Men and Spiderman, that I became totally fixated. I watched these movies and sequels, religiously. Always wanting more and waiting for the other famous comic book movies to come to life. Although they weren't always good (Elektra, Fantastic Four & Ghost Rider = WTF was this shit lol?), the one I always dreamt about. . .comes to life next year.

THE AVENGERS!!!!

The Avengers is the super group formed by Nick Fury, who owns a international agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D. He calls upon Earths current Super-heroes to fight a global threatening enemy. The Avengers consist of Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and of course Captain America.

This 2012 blockbuster looks too intriguing to be looked over. So far all three movies following up to The Avengers, have been more than average. The next installment before it is released will be the Captain America movie, which also doesn't look disappointing.

I'm excited to see how the heroes all perform on screen.

Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk and other co-stars.

The cast is an all-star lineup! With the exception of Bruce Banner/Hulk being replaced for the 2nd time (previously Bruce Bana & Edward Norton). Mark Ruffalo (Leo's sidekick in Shutter Island) isn't a bad actor though and his performance should be something to look forward too.

Guess we're gonna have to wait till next year. . .Meanwhile go see THOR!

The Boondocks

Here's a cartoon series I recently stumbled across on, although it is not new (first aired on TV in 2007) but it's still a goodie!

There are basically three main characters; Robert 'Grandad' Freeman the crazy old grandpa, who looks after ten year old Huey who is much wiser than his younger brother, eight year old Riley who is a menace to society.

The series is filled with crazy tales of the boys running a muck through there new suburban neighbourhood which is both funny and extremely entertaining!

Check out some sample footage below:

Like the series? Own it for yourself by searching for it in Itunes or for us cheaper folk watch it online for free HERE!

Time Magazine Time Machine

Time Magazine has had a repeat in there history of design. The same cover was used almost 50 years ago for the death of Adolf Hitler ending the second World War.

Adolf leader of the Nazi's cult is accounted for killing more than thousands of Jews, homosexuals and coloured skin people during the war and this is a FACT. Celebration took place after the war ended and not so much focused on Hitler's death.

Osama Bin Laden was ACCUSED of September 11th and several other terrorist attacks but there was no hard evidence against him. Our nations invaded several countries because of this and found nothing but resources and the death of Saddam and Osama. No major third war had taken place but a instead a pointless 'war on terror' which lost many innocent lives on both sides. He is now dead and America celebrate his death like it's all the years seasons put into one.

I have already said that I am not involved in the September 11 attacks in the United States. I had no knowledge of these attacks, nor do I consider the killing of innocent women, children, and other humans as an appreciable act. There exists a government within the government of the United States. That secret government must be asked as to who carried out the attacks.... The United States should trace the perpetrators of these attacks to those persons who want to make the present century a century of conflict between Islam and Christianity so that their own nation could survive.
- Osama Bin Laden, September 12th 2001.

Justice? I don't seem to see much of it.

"She Aint You"...A Michael Jackson Tribute

Sampling "Human Nature" by the late great Michael Jackson, Chris Brown Delivers an amazing slow jam entitled " She Aint You". If you check out the video below, he pays mad homage to Michael with similar choreography to him and dress sense that we have seen in past MJ videos.

The song itself seems to have a deeper meaning, not just talking about a girl but listening to it, you get the feeling that Chris Brown indicates no one could ever surpass Michael Jackson...

Have a listen to the chorus but be open minded about it....

Also at the start it show Chris flying up, maybe a sign that MJ is in a better place?...

Check it out...

The Weeknd

Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd (yes with only two E's, not three) has been the latest buzz all around internet. The Canadian born singer has caught mainly the attention of Young Money artist Drake, when he started releasing his songs off his 9-track mixtape known as 'House of Balloons' late last year.

Mixing elements of R&B/Minimal/Dubstep/Electro and more while using a signature echo and distortion to basically form a style of his own, Abel is being compared to artists such as The Dream, R.Kelly, early sounds of Drake and even newcomer Frank Ocean. Although none of these artists can actually be pinpointed to his sound, it is quick to notice that his unique production will leave a mark on your ears.

Frequent use of drugs, alcohol, sleeping around with girls, early mornings and late nights can be found in The Weeknd's content, which are still topics that may take a while to adjust too or sink in right away.

This is one of the standout tracks on The Weeknd mixtape, featuring a memorable Aaliyah sample.
